To catch up with where we started our discussion please familiarize yourself with the first part of this proposal where I kind of set the table for some of the discussions we should focus on in any of the Space you see me hold this week.
CrayonDAOO $RAIN Proposal Pt. 1
What I’ve learned since that last post:
People are resonating with the idea
I got a ton of positive feedback. I think that’s cool but I really want to focus on the more negative feedback. I want to attempt to turn no’s into yes’s.
The post is too long and/or confusing
I agree! Part of pitching my idea is pitching myself. The post length is a metaphor for how long I am on Solana. Jokes aside, I ramble and definitely need to edit out some fluff and organize my thoughts better.
The $ICE token is redundant and unnecessary
Shit, you’re right. I fucking agree. I’m a brand designer and uber-creative so sometimes I overcomplicate things because well, $ICE IS technically colder than $RAIN… And my Crayons are melting. LOL!
@Only_Raindrops name makes more sense now.
Some believe another DAO is unnecessary
“A sub-commitee, an art commitee, inside RAINDao (Imperium Rain DAO) will keep things moving smoother. Without unessesary separation. And cost. No reason to complicate the matter. No reason to allocate and spend RAIN on something like this IMO.” -Concerned Citizen
“Pandas are already such a small community, having these 2nd entities at the moment based on traits seems counterproductive. A committee of artist or simple community votes to select the winner would also work. Further fostering community relationships imo.” -Concerned Citizen
Some form of this feedback came up multiple times so I’d love to have a conversation with those who feel this way to understand their thinking.
My rebuttal comes with a question
From my POV, I’m a tech company that is selling Product Design for a DAPP that allows Creators and Investors to collaborate and share equity, on-chain, through NFTs, in a way that has never existed.
To clearly state my value proposition, right now there is no standard of collaboration between NFT Creators. I’m seeking funds from the $RAINDao to get this built. This tech would be called Proof of Process and would be inherently tied to the $RAIN token and the Degeniverse by birthright. I think DTP holders benefit greatly by being associated with funding innovative solutions to on-chain collaboration.
With that being said, when there is a need to spend funds on hiring or hard/software we should really ask ourselves does the entire DTP community need to be involved in every decision? Or just the approval of funds? The CrayonDAOO will operate on-chain and the members held accountable by the community anyway. Sometimes they’ll need to pass props that the larger community may not relate to or understand. What happens? Do we just give up on our ideas or keep reworking doomed proposals?
On the first post:
Imagine I was an Exec. at Fortnite or EA Games. These companies have invested millions into their brands. Suggesting whether intentionally or not to become a subcommite within the Imperium Rain DAO is laughable.
Fiverr is valued at $3B. Suggesting this is an art committee is a little condescending and borderline dismissive of the value proposition I’m presenting. Please don’t lil bro me just because I play with Crayons.
On the second post:
Long-term I want anyone to access the tool. At heart its an open-source play. I do however want to add a decently high barrier to entry in front of the claiming of bounties and production of art while we’re in development.
Over time I would like to open it up to more and more users not just DAA or DTP holders. Trust me mass adoption of this tool is a serious goal. Proof of Process could be a collaboration standard.
So why should Crayon Farmers get new utility?
Personally, I strongly support sub-communities united by a single trait. Like many other investors, I buy the artwork. I love the rarities and cherish the NFTs with traits that speak to me.
In the last post, I pitched Crayon Farmers, as the Ambassadors of the CrayonDAOO. They would be responsible for recruiting new Creators and completing bounties on behalf of the DAOO in exchange for rewards. Those perks come with serious expectations and responsibilities that not everyone is built for. I want the barrier of entry to be high enough that you take the opportunity seriously. Right now I’m even willing to buy the NFT for the right Creator. I already have. I think they could be great onboarding tools.
Holding a Crayon Farmer would be a foot in the door but the community will judge us like Gladiators so we’re publically bringing our A-game every time we submit Process Tokens to Solana.
Crayon Farmers as Ambassadors is a strategic brand move on my part that I would defend tooth and nail. I want to capture the feeling you feel when a BAYC holder enters a room for Creators. For some reason, we instinctively assign an absurd amount of respect to Blue Chip NFT holders that the person behind the PFP may not really deserve.
In the case of Crayon Farmers, over time you’ll see that image become the battle-worn visage of a true Degen who can guide you in this space.
How much money will I be asking for?
I still don’t know. I may not know on Friday either. Still collecting data and it's still so soon. I’m not rushing into a No vote and would rather submit a proposal with a high chance of success.
Crazy Developments
The Solana Hackathon was announced today! I’ve registered myself for it and will be putting together a team to compete in the Hackathon. Obviously, I’m using the CrayonDAOO and Proof of Process/On-chain collaboration as the idea we build. I’m hoping this extremely fortunate timing and $5M prize pot can lure some talent to my doorstep because I’m poor and can only pay in trash right now.
